Big Springs Hike June 2, 1012 !!!

Kira, Jeff, and Jeffrey
On our way home from the cabin we decided to hike Big Springs, one of Orem's hidden jewels. We just recently found out about. It is probably the most beautiful hike I have been on in UT. We didn't get to do the whole thing, for fear Jeffrey would revolt, but we did a healthy chunk of it.

On our drive up to the hike we were witness to the runners of the Squaw Peak 50 Mile Trail Run. They should really call it a 50 Mile run over the mountains of doom and hope you don't die by the end.  The people were tough, I knew after the first few runners we saw that this was now ordinary race.  I hope one day to be as tough as them, fearless and beautiful.

sorry my pictures don't do it justice

there was water like this running beside the whole trail

A true man and his faithful hiking companion. Jeffrey was serenading Jeff most the way with is high brow babblings and  innovative tunes and chants.

The aspens were amazing, you have to see it in person.

We got the fever ... CABIN FEVER !!!

We realized at the beginning of the week that Jeff didn't have to work on Friday, woot, woot! So we decided an epic trip to the cabin was in order.  I got someone to water my garden, cooked a bunch of food to avoid dishes and packed our bags. We arrived Thursday evening and cleaned all the mouse poop and dead flies.  Surprisingly the cabin wasn't all that dirty.  The cleaning went quick and then we kicked back and had an awesome weekend.  We had a fire, went hiking, running, and sitting on the swing, needless to say it was BOMB!!!!
Breakfast time

Jeffrey kickin back, he had a busy day.

jeffrey, yes he is crawling still, even though he knows how to walk, stubborn child.

he did a lot of exploring

he played a lot of basketball, too

Jeff making more toast, did I mention the fridge never really got cold, the breakfast I had made in advance went bad, apparently sausage and egg need to be refrigerated.

Jeffrey trying to convince Matt to switch him beds.

He got a little drunk, one night and had a hang over the next morning. Mental note, next time no Henrys.

Apparently whole wheat bread cures a hangover.

Chillin in the morning, enjoying the non schedule.

We had a good time, to say the least, the Cabin heals the soul and lifts the spirits!
