An Old You and a New Year!

Well folks, 2011 has officially come to a close.  I am another year older and so are all of you.  A lot happens in just one year. We have survived the oxygen tank and everything that came along with that.

Jeffrey has grown up. He no longer just lays around expecting his parents to make all the mess on their own.  He is a go getter, pulling out all the tupperware, stuffing his mouth with used tissues, playing in the toilet water, and my personal favorite, actually playing with his toys (this is rare, but does happen on occasion). He dances now, gets his teeth brushed every night, he also claps, drinks from a sippy cup and eats solid foods, he gives kisses and crawls like a champ, he walks along furniture, loves to read and knows how to make phone calls.  He will also officially be off breast milk in about a week. Jeffrey has come a long way, he survived the NICU, the oxygen, a double hernia surgery, the flu, and two parents who have no idea what they are doing. He is the jolliest baby one will ever meet and is a joy to have in our home.

Papa Jeff has also had quite the year, not nearly as impressive as his son's, but still a good year. He managed to keep his job even through extreme sleep deprivation. He has been serving as the second counselor in the bishopric for a few months now. He lost 20 lbs (thanks to boot camp and his extreme self control). He has decided to go to law school and will begin studying for the LSAT. He played basketball for the first time in a looooong time about a month ago.  He has been diligent with his knee therapy and we are convinced they are healed. He is now working on getting back into shape. I am sure I've missed something, but most important Jeff has been a great father and husband. We are very lucky and blessed to have him as a part of our family.  He is a hard working man and most wonderful spouse.

Me, well, I have come full circle.  I am almost just as tired now as I was at the beginning of the year. I realized how grateful I am for my parents this year and my in-laws as well.  I had no idea how much work there is in raising a little human.  At the beginning of the year if you would have asked me if I would consider getting pregnant before the new year I would have looked at you like you were some psycho, but someone has a sense of humor and Jeffrey is so awesome that I wanted another one.  I'm just greedy I guess. I am excited for the new addition and hope it will go more smoothly this time around. So far so good, the morning sickness isn't nearly as bad. As for my accomplishments, I have just a few.  First, Jeffrey is still alive and seems happy.  Second, I started a boot camp which mainly involved me bossing a few people around and watching them lose weight. Third, I almost got Josh and Ann Marie's wedding present done.

This about sums it up.  We have made our resolutions and are looking forward to another great year.  Happy 2012 to all and to all a good blog!
